Russell Wilson is entering his first season as the quarterback of the New York Giants after brief stints with the Denver Broncos and Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the Giants also drafted Jaxson Dart, who played his college ball with the Ole Miss Rebels.

Still, it doesn’t appear as if Wilson is overly concerned about losing his starting job to the rookie.

“I just think about having success today,” Wilson said, according to Pro Football Talk. “It’s always been my approach. Every day is like I’m trying to be the best in the world. I I think that for me, mentally, you have confidence in yourself.

“You have confidence in what you do, your process. I constantly stay the course and understand that if I’m the best me, I know how great that is. And so, for me, I always just stay within.

“I don’t really think about outside. And I know you guys have a great day job to do and everything else. But for me, I just stay focused on the process of it all.”

Fans reacted to Wilson’s statement on social media.

“Russell Wilson says everything like his words are filtered through Chat GPT. Filtered to sound as chiche as possible, with zero human emotion,” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Dart starting by November,” another person added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Dart makes a run at the starting job.
