Russell Wilson in a Subway ad.

It’s safe to say when the Denver Broncos traded for Russell Wilson, neither the franchise or the quarterback saw their season transpiring like it has.

Wilson reportedly wants to play through a hamstring injury for which he underwent an MRI on Tuesday after last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday Night Football. He has already been booed by his new fans multiple times throughout the season.

But at least Wilson still has the revenue stream from his Subway ads for his “Dangerwich” sandwich,

In the ad, Russell can be seen showcasing the various “dangerous” ways he consumes his sandwich. It’s hard to say how long Subway will continue the sponsorship if current reactions to the latest video hold:

“Russ targeting the middle of the field,” wrote one fan.

“I simply think people who work at ad agencies for massive companies should be locked in cages and sprayed with hoses,” wrote one user.

“Would you rather be forced to watch 12 straight hours of Russ content or Jackson Mahomes?” asked another fan.

“This just ruined my day,” one fan said.

“And just when you think he can’t be anymore cringeworthy, he goes and tops himself. Runaway candidate for Geek of the Year. Better chance of starting in Revenge of the Nerds 4 run ever playing in a Super Bowl again,” one fan wrote.

Wilson and the Broncos are next in action on Oct. 30th, when they travel to Florida to face the Jacksonville Jaguars in AFC play.
