When the Tennessee Titans selected former Kentucky Wildcats star quarterback Will Levis at the beginning of the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Friday evening, it led to many questions about the team’s future at the quarterback position – especially regarding current starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill. But head coach Mike Vrabel was quick to clarify.

During a press conference following the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft on Friday night, Mike Vrabel revealed that Ryan Tannehill will remain the team’s starting quarterback heading into the offseason and fall camp, but that the players will ultimately determine the depth chart with their play during practice.

“Ryan will be the starting quarterback on Monday,” Vrabel said during the press conference on Friday, according to NFL.com. “Malik will be the backup. Will will be the third quarterback. And what I’ve told them is whatever happens after that will be up to the players. That’s what it’s always been here. That’s what we always want it to be.”

It’s a major announcement about the team’s future at the most important position, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

We’ll certainly have to see how this situation plays out for the Titans going forward.
