It’s pretty commonplace for NFL fans across the country to wear some sort of paint on their faces or bodies in support of their favorite teams. But as one New York Giants fan highlighted during Monday night’s game against the Dallas Cowboys, that paint can look pretty ridiculous if your team isn’t doing too well.

On Monday night, the broadcast cameras found a Giants fan who had painted his face and bald head to look like a Giant’s football helmet. Unfortunately, his brief bit of airtime happened just moments after a New York drive ended in another disappointing field goal.

The man looked genuinely sad as he shook his head in dismay at his team’s lackluster offensive performance. Unfortunately for him, he quickly became a meme in the NFL world, who made jokes about his sad appearance all across Twitter.

Unfortunately, the game did not get much better for the man. The Giants made the field goal and got one last crack at tying the game in the closing minutes. But Giants quarterback Daniel Jones threw a back-breaking interception late in the fourth quarter to seal the Cowboys’ victory over New York.

Maybe next time he paints his face like this, his team will play better for him.
