While the NFL world has been focused on the Deshaun Watson case, another legal situation that has been under the radar is the one involving Alvin Kamara.

The New Orleans Saints running back was accused of assault while he was in Las Vegas for the Pro Bowl back in February.

Kamara is facing a felony charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm. The running back was supposed to have a hearing about his case but it keeps being delayed by his lawyers, who now request an additional 60 days. If granted this stay, the running back could play this year, or at least part of the year, until the NFL has its hearings about this case, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“I think the league is gonna be looking into this, but it’s gonna be a little while, it seems, before this legal case is settled. If we’re talking about Alvin Kamara from a fantasy (football) standpoint, there’s a real chance that the status of that case is not going to affect his availability this season,” Schefter said. “At some point in time — depending on what the investigation shows — he could be disciplined. In terms of this season, it looks more and more unlikely that it’s going to be this season.”

It’s not a question of if Kamara will be punished, but like Watson, when.
