Former New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees caused quite a stir this past weekend. After reports broke that the former NFL quarterback would no longer work for NBC in the Football Night in America studio, he tweeted that he was still deciding what to do next.
“Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided,” said Brees. “I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids, or all of the above. I’ll let you know.”

The line that caught everyone off guard was Brees saying he may return to football. Is it a possibility or just a throwaway comment?
Saints’ new head coach Dennis Allen thinks that Brees was just making that comment in jest.

“My wife’s the one that told me about it because I don’t follow social media,” Allen told Luke Johnson of NOLA.com. “So I thought, ‘Well, that’s interesting, that’ll bring up some questions tomorrow at the golf tournament.’ But certainly, I think it was a comment made in jest. We certainly haven’t had any conversations in that regard.”
In fact, the Saints just sign Jameis Wintson to a new contract and he is expected to start this year. Winston started last year for the Saints but suffered an ACL injury that sidelined him for the second half of the season.
Still, that hasn’t stopped the NFL world from speculating about Brees’ potential return to the playing field.
How long until a workout video gets released by Brees?

When Drew Brees says he may play football again does he mean in the NFL? Like starting QB for an NFL team? Like throwing the ball more than 10 yards?

The world will be watching to see what Drew Brees will be doing next, especially New Orleans Saints fans.
