The New Orleans Saints got off to a hot start out of the gate last season. The Saints went 2-0 in the early part of the season and looked like they’d be one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Unfortunately, that was as good as things got. New Orleans finished the season 5-12 and missed the playoffs. The Saints’ struggles left many wondering if it was time for an entire reset, including moving on from quarterback Derek Carr.
Now, we know what the franchise is thinking regarding the veteran pass-thrower.
“Saints general manager Mickey Loomis indicated the team will stick with Derek Carr as the team’s starting quarterback in 2025,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“And this is why nobody wanted that job. Mickey Loomis continuing to call the shots that nobody wants called,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Because of them being in cap heII, they unfortunately don’t have an option. But, they really need to tank and rebuild. So, this can be a great way to do that,” someone else added.
“I mean they probably don’t have a better option but still… how much longer are they going to kick the can down the road?! The team desperately needs a rebuild and sticking with a bunch of old players just keeps them in purgatory,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Carr and the Saints can turn things around.
