While wide receiver Sammy Watkins has yet to even play a regular season game with the Green Bay Packers, he’s already ready to make a judgment between his new quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, and one of his old quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.
During a recent interview with the Green Bay Packers official website, Watkins was asked about a quote he allegedly said comparing Rodgers and Mahomes: “Pat is incredibly good, but A-Rod is on a whole other level.”

Watkins did not deny saying the quote, and he expanded on what he meant by it.
“He’s amazing,” Watkins said of Rodgers. “How he controls the ball. How he puts everyone in place. I’ve been with a lot of quarterbacks, and I’ve never seen them carry themselves like Aaron Rodgers.”
Since he was drafted No. 4 overall in the 2014 NFL Draft, Watkins has played for Buffalo Bills, Los Angeles Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens, and the Green Bay Packers. During those years, he’s played with several different quarterbacks including Tyrod Taylor, Jared Goff, Lamar Jackson, Mahomes and Rodgers.
Even though there are multiple former MVPs in that group of quarterbacks, it sounds like Watkins is impressed by Rodgers above all the others.
