If you come at the king, you better not miss. Fans of the San Francisco 49ers learned that lesson the hard way Sunday.
Before their NFC Championship matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles, they stormed the Rocky statue in the city’s center to chant about “Brocky,” aka Brock Purdy, the Niners’ quarterback.

Purdy suffered a yet-disclosed injury and got sidelined during the game. The Eagles destroyed the 49ers, 37-7, to advance to the Super Bowl to face the winner of the AFC Championship between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Eagles officially responded after the game:
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results https://t.co/nv67oaGtIU

“Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,” the franchise tweeted.
Meanwhile, the NFL world was quick to react to the major blown troll move:
I don’t think anything could ever age worse than the Padres song but let’s go Birds.

One Eagles fan simply let images of similar failed Rocky statue troll jobs do his talking.
The Niners finish their 2022-2023 campaign with a very respectable 15-5 record.
