After Monday’s game between the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants went nearly 40 minutes without a touchdown, New York’s Saquon Barkley finally broke through and did so in spectacular fashion.
With the Giants on the Cowboys’ 36-yard line, Barkley took a handoff on first down. He fought through Dallas’ front seven, sidestepping two would-be tacklers. He then cut to his left and sprinted towards the end zone, scoring the game’s first touchdown.

Barkley entered the 2022 season as a question mark, as he struggled with injuries and overall ineffective play for much of the 2020 and 2021 seasons. But in the early part of 2022, he experienced a significant revival.
This touchdown was another part of that revival and got the NFL world buzzing.

Saquon is out here eating early in the season, and every Stud RB you drafted ahead of him is the reason your Fantasy team is 0-3. #MNF

The touchdown was Barkley’s second of the season. He’d been kept largely in check on Monday until that touchdown. Barkley’s first 11 carries against the stingy Dallas defense went for only 39 yards. But with one run, a below-average game turned into a positive one.
It also seemed to provide a spark in the Cowboys on offense. Dallas scored its first touchdown of the game on the ensuing possession, going on a 75-yard drive which was capped off with a one-yard touchdown run from Ezekiel Elliott.
