The Seattle Seahawks have a good road up ahead. With the NFC West in transition and the San Francisco 49ers going through quarterback troubles, Seattle could rise up after a surprise year in 2022. But they still don’t know the status of one of their star defenders.

Defensive back Jamal Adams has missed time since September 2022. Adams, who the Seahawks acquired from the New York Jets in a blockbuster trade in 2020, suffered a torn quadriceps tendon that forced him off for the season. The team doesn’t quite know yet about his status as they are “uncertain” heading into OTAs.

“Seahawks remain uncertain as to when Jamal Adams will be ready to return to field,” Around the NFL tweeted.

John Schneider, the Seahawks’ general manager, appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, discussing the star’s safety and his progressions in his health. “He’s working his tail off. We want to be really careful with this, “Schneider said via NFL.com. “It’s been two years in a row where he’s been banged up now. We had traded for him, and he came in and set the sack record for a DB … and then he’s had two years now where he’s been banged up.

“We want to be really careful with his progression, so, training camp, I’m just not sure,” Schneider said. “We’ll see where he is when he comes in for the OTAs.”

So while there’s no telling if Jamal Adams will be ready to come to training camp, it’s good to see that the team is taking time with him.
