It happens to everybody, you put off depositing a check and before you know it, you’ve forgotten to deposit it at all. Now, in my own experiences that doesn’t necessarily mean forgetting about the check entirely, but it does happen.
Sean Weatherspoon experienced something quite similar, although it appears as though he may have lost his check altogether, before finding it while moving, thanks to his significant other:
My gal just found a game check, I guess moving does have its perks ha

How does one forget a game check? I mean, that’s a lot of money. Weatherspoon explained that end of it on Twitter as well:
@nwilborn19 bro they gave me one hard copy all season… Everything else was direct deposit lol #blessed

Weatherspoon’s base salary for the Cardinals last season was $2,350,000, according to Spotrac. Divide that up among 16 games and you have a check worth just under $147,000. That’s not a bad amount of money to just come across when you’re moving.
Weatherspoon will be making less in Atlanta this season, with a base salary of $1 million, and a roster bonus of $437,500, as well as a per game bonus at $31,250.
So it’s probably a good thing he’s just now finding that check. He could obviously either spend or save it, but saving it might be the way to go, as he has taken a pay cut for 2016.
