It’s not often you hear a general manager openly praising a division rival in a press conference, but that’s exactly what happened this week during an interview session with San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch.

During his press conference this week, John Lynch gave a massive compliment to the division-rival Seattle Seahawks, revealing that he thinks they’re an up-and-coming team based on the way they’ve drafted over the past couple of years.

“We feel the Seahawks coming,” Lynch said, via 49ersWebzone.com. “They’re really good. They had a really good draft last year. I think they’ve repeated it this year. But the most important thing is that we continue to focus upon ourselves, and I think we continue to make our roster better. I think this draft class will only add to that. And we’re excited about our football team.”

Lynch said he thinks John Schneider has done “as good at this job as anybody in our league” when it comes to building a team through free agency and the NFL Draft.

The Seahawks had four picks in the first two rounds of the NFL Draft this year and last year thanks to the trade that sent Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos.
