There have been a lot of comments about Aaron Rodgers and the way he skipped out on OTA’s recently. While most NFL analysts didn’t think it was a big deal, some are calling into question Rodger’s commitment to the New York Jets and how he has treated his teammates and head coach Robert Saleh.
One of those people is former NFL QB Shaun King, who won a Super Bowl ring as a backup QB with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
In an interview on the Go Long podcast, King called Rodgers‘ actions selfish and self-centered, and said he put Saleh in a bad situation.
“He’s become one of the most selfish and self-centered quarterbacks of my generation,” King said about Rodgers during a recent edition of the “Go Long” podcast.” “Being so selfish that you can’t reschedule that other thing to be at mandatory minicamp where you know there’s going to be a lot of media because you’re in New York? You know you are going to put your head coach and your organization in a difficult spot because now they’ve got to answer questions about why you are not here,” King added. “… It just was selfish of him because he’s known what this date was.”
King may be right but the Jets don’t seem to be worried about Rodgers’s mini-vacation as long he is here when training camp opens.
