Tom Brady

The Las Vegas Raiders want to establish a lasting and winning culture, something the organization has lacked going back to their final seasons in Oakland. To achieve this, the Raiders brought a pair of proven winners into the fold, welcoming legendary quarterback Tom Brady into the franchise’s ownership group and legendary coach Pete Carroll as the team’s next head coach.

Now, the Raiders are looking for a quarterback who will lead them into the future. The team traded for and extended Geno Smith earlier this offseason, but Smith is a veteran and likely in the tail end of his physical prime.

Knowing this, it appears that Brady and Carroll have set their sights on a young quarterback in this year’s draft class and are making moves to ensure they have all pertinent information on him.

Sources: Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is scheduled to visit the #Raiders early next week. Las Vegas holds the No. 6 pick in the draft. They have been doing work on QBs and have other QB prospects also coming into their building,” reported FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz on Thursday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“This would be a surprise but to some degree makes sense. Geno is not the future there and then there’s the Brady connection,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Could be the next franchise QB. Him learning under Tom Brady would be great,” someone else added.

“Raiders aren’t taking him 6th but maybe at 37 or a trade back in scenario,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Brady and Caroll have anything up their sleeves to ensure they’re in a position to select Sanders on draft day.
