The Cleveland Browns have had a frustrating start to the season. Cleveland is 1-3 through the first four games of the season, and the play from veteran quarterback Joe Flacco has left a lot to be desired for Browns fans.

Rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders made it clear to reporters last week that he feels he can bring more to the table than some of the other quarterbacks around the league, and it’s hard to imagine he wasn’t including Flacco in that group of struggling pass throwers.

“I know if you see the quarterback play in the league right now, I know I’m capable of doing better than that,” Sanders said to reporters.

Then, one former NFL head coach and current media member made it clear he didn’t want to hear it from the rookie.

“Something’s missing with this kid. This kid talks, and he runs his mouth. Like he said, ‘I can be a starting quarterback’ with his arms crossed like this,” ESPN analyst Rex Ryan said.

“Get your ass in the front row and study and do all that. If I know, the whole league knows. Quit being an embarrassment that way. You’ve got the talent to be the quarterback; you should be. You should be embarrassed that you’re not the quarterback now.”

Now, Sanders’ mom is responding by calling Ryan’s commentary “impotent, cancerous, envious energy,” according to Awful Announcing. She added “this type of Evile goes waaay back” and questioned what Ryan “really represent[s]” before adding that “there’s no room for this type in sports.”

It’ll be interesting to see what Ryan has to say in response.
