Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless

Tuesday it was quite noticeable that Shannon Sharpe was not in his usual place on a set with Skip Bayless on their Fox show “Undisputed.”

Sharpe explained Wednesday that Damar Hamlin‘s injury, hit him hard and it reminded of the time that his brother Sterling Sharpe was on the field briefly and thought at the time to may have been paralyzed from his injury.

Sharpe also explained that partner Skip Bayless‘ tweet about Hamlin right after it happened played another factor as to why he didn’t come into to work Tuesday. Bayless seemed to take exception to what Sharpe was saying but Sharpe would not back down.

“I cannot even get through a monologue without you interrupting.”

Sharpe seemed highly upset and wanted to move on to the next segment of the show.

Bayless tweeted out an insensitive comment about Hamlin questioning if the NFL game should continue to be played, which many took exception to.

But Sharpe’s return and dialogue with Bayless did not go unnoticed in the sports world with many siding with the NFL Hall of Famer.

“This is brutal. Skip Bayless interrupts Shannon Sharpe during his heartfelt explanation about missing yesterday’s show: “I’m not gonna take it down because I stand by what I tweeted. … Nobody here had a problem with that tweet.” Total lack of humanity and contradiction,” Jordan Schultz said.

“Shannon Sharpe is sick of this man just like all of us,” one fan said.

“Shannon Sharpe’s level of restraint here is remarkable, he’s fed up with Skip Bayless…” Kevin Gray Jr. said on Twitter.

It’s been clear these last few weeks between Sharpe and Bayless have been more intense than ever before. Bayless made another off-handed comment about Sharpe when they were discussing Tom Brady in a segment a few weeks ago which Sharpe didn’t like.

You have to wonder how much longer will this pair will be able to remind on friendly terms with each other.
