Through the first five games of his NFL career, Dak Prescott has been nearly perfect. Sadly for him, that’s not enough as of now to win over the starting job from a 36-year-old veteran quarterback that is consistently injured, and currently on Injured Reserve.

Over the first five games of his NFL career, Prescott has a completion percentage of 69.9%, has thrown four touchdowns and zero interceptions, and has had two rushing touchdowns. But, it appears he is still considered the Dallas Cowboys’ backup quarterback.

ESPN’s Ed Werder isn’t the only big-time NFL reporter who has heard Romo is technically still the Cowboys’ #1 quarterback either. According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, there is “zero chance” Romo isn’t the starter when he’s cleared to play.

Oh and he team’s owner and general manager kind of confirmed it too after the 28-14 win over Cincinnati on Sunday.

“Tony is our No. 1 quarterback,” Jerry Jones told reporters.

During Dallas’ preseason Week 3 game, Romo suffered a fracture in his back. While the injury appeared to possibly mean Romo would miss the whole season, the quarterback is on track to play for the Cowboys during their Week 8 matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.

And Prescott isn’t the only rookie on offense that Dallas has relied on to start 4-1. Against the Bengals, Ezekiel Elliott had another massive game.
