The Pittsburgh Steelers are gearing up for their first season under head coach Mike McCarthy after Mike Tomlin stepped down from the role after 19 seasons. Whether or not Aaron Rodgers will return has loomed over Pittsburgh’s entire offseason. However, another veteran, this one being on the defensive side of the ball, has an uncertain future in the Steel City, per reports.

“Teams could see Pittsburgh considering moving on from T.J. Watt in 2027,” Sleeper NFL reported.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“Should have moved on the second Garrett signed his contract in Cleveland Could have had multiple 1sts (possibly) in a deal for him and cap space to fill in other places We’re paying him for services rendered 3-4 years ago at this point. He’s a baller but only QBs warrant that,” one Steelers fan wrote on Twitter.

“He’ll be 32 this season, interested to see what the market looks like for him in 2027,” one fan added.

“Although I’ll never understand why he looks completely gassed after two or three series. People say it’s the scheme but I have a feeling it’s not that,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see what the future holds in store for Watt and the Steelers.
