United States President Donald Trump was recently embarrassed by a former colleague, as tech billionaire Elon Musk was highly critical of a recent congressional spending bill after the pair cut ties on their working relationship.

Now, Trump is dealing with another situation that paints him in a poor light, as the Pittsburgh Steelers have released an official statement distancing themselves from the President after two Steelers players attended one of his rallies.

“We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with us. As valued fans, your voice is an essential part of what makes our Steelers community and fan base so strong,” the organization penned after fans complained about the players attending Trump’s rally, per Pro Football Talk.

“We understand that a recent rally in Pittsburgh has generated a range of reactions from our fan base. Our alumni and current players make their own individual decisions that reflect their views, and they do not necessarily represent the view of the entire Pittsburgh Steelers organization. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your passion and your continued support of the team.”

Fans reacted to the statement on social media.

“If I have to start tracking the political views of the players on my favorite teams, I need to find something else to occupy my time,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Sounds like they’re pandering to a very small percentage of people who just can’t deal with reality,” one fan added.

“They should be mad at everyone that is complaining because they were happy with the largest wealth transfer ever from the poor to the rich. Only those that benefited from that or the simpletons are OK with it,” someone else added.
