The Pittsburgh Steelers are making it known with their activity this offseason that they have every intention of ending their drought of playoff wins this offseason. However, if the Steelers want to turn their wishes into reality, they’ll almost certainly need the services of star pass rusher T.J. Watt.
Watt has been frustrated with the organization this offseason, as he remains adamant about receiving a contract extension. A deal has yet to be done, and teams around the league have even contacted Pittsburgh about a potential trade.
Now, details are emerging about how the Steelers plan on handling the situation.
““The Steelers are willing to make Watt the highest-paid non-quarterback per year, which means more than Garrett’s $40 million per year. The issues? Sources say a third-year guarantee in the contract, as well as contract length, continue to be the points holding the Steelers back from signing Watt now. The deal does not seem all that close, either,” reported Steelers insider Nick Farabaugh.

“The Steelers would be crazy not to extend him,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Oh the Steelers playing dirty they put this out there to get the fans to pressure him by saying how can you not take all that money. He wants the years goofies it ain’t just the money for 2 yrs,” someone else added.
“Paying him more than Garrett would be a massive mistake,” another fan added.
