The New England Patriots are entering their second season with young quarterback Drake Maye, who the franchise hopes is the right guy to fill the shoes of NFL legend Tom Brady, after Mac Jones and Jacoby Brissett failed to fill the role.
The Pats are also heading into their first season with head coach Mike Vrabel and what is supposed to be the first year for wide receiver Stefon Diggs with the team. However, Vrabel, who is trying to reestablish the winning culture in New England that has been missing since Brady left the franchise, doesn’t seem willing to put up with any of Diggs’ alleged offseason antics.
“I came to the show yesterday with the knowledge that (Stefon Diggs getting cut) is on the table,” Scott Zolak said for NBC Sports Boston.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Take this with a grain of salt, unless you know exactly who his sources are.. please be careful doing this. It’s one incident and at the end of the day, he’s human and he’s still recovering from a torn ACL. He is the best WR on the team by far!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“What am I supposed to take away from this when the guy giving the message is wearing sunglasses while on radio and camera lol,” another fan added.
“Diggs is not getting cut, at worst they would trade him and get something back,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens with Diggs.
