Last offseason, the Houston Texans made the big move to bring in four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs. But according to recent comments from Texans GM Nick Caserio, the partnership between the two sides simply may not be working out.

The Texans roster as a whole was unfortunately unable to stay healthy throughout much of the 2024 season. And Diggs was no exception, missing out on the final nine games of the season after suffering a torn ACL.

Diggs will look to regain his elite form in 2025 as he enters his age 31 season. But based on Caserio’s comments on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, he may have to do so on another team away from the Texans.

“We’ll continue to talk to Stef,” said Caserio. “Stef did a great job. Glad he was on our team last year. He helped us win some games. Unfortunately, he got injured. So we’ll kind of work through the process with him. We have an open door policy. We don’t rule anything out, so we’ll have an open mind. We’ll figure out what makes the most sense and if there is a fit.”

Caserio’s comments aren’t exactly all that reassuring that he would love to have Diggs back. Though it seems like that possibility is still at least on the table.

Regardless of whether Diggs is back or not in Houston, the Texans need to bring in someone who can provide a spark in 2025 on offense, as they ranked just 21st in the NFL in offensive yards per game throughout the regular season this past year.
