The New York Giants made their biggest roster moves of the season last week when they signed star quarterback Daniel Jones to a long-term deal, which also allowed them to use their franchise tag to keep star running back Saquon Barkley with the team for another season. But on Sunday, the Giants made another move to keep a veteran player for another season.

According to a report from NFL insider Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, the Giants are expected to bring back veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard on a new deal.

“The #Giants are expected to re-sign free agent WR Sterling Shepard to a new deal, per sources. Longtime Giants staple will continue his career in New York,” Fowler said in a tweet on Sunday afternoon.

Shepard has played all of his seven NFL seasons in New York after the Giants selected Shepard in the second round back in 2016. Bringing him back will give the Giants a veteran presence at receiver.

It’s a major move for the Giants, and the NFL world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Shepard is undeniably talented racking up over 4,000 receiving yards throughout his career. But he’s only played 10 games over the past two seasons combined due to his injuries.
