Super Bowl LVIII Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Sunday night, the sportsbooks opened action for the Super Bowl LVIII matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, and it sure did not take long for that betting line to shift significantly.

When the lines opened on Sunday night, the San Francisco 49ers were listed as slight favorites over the Kansas City Chiefs in the upcoming Super Bowl showdown. On the FanDuel sportsbook, the Niners opened as 2.5-point favorites while on DraftKings, the 49ers opened as 2-point favorites. On both sportsbooks, the game total opened at 47.5 points.

But that line quickly changed a bit by Monday morning.

After just a few hours of betting action, the line had shifted a whole point in favor of the Kansas City Chiefs on both sportsbooks with the Niners moving to 1.5-point favorites on FanDuel and 1-point favorites on DraftKings.

It’s a pretty significant and shocking line shift for the line to swing so dramatically after just a few hours of action, and the NFL world had a lot to say about it on social media.

We’ll have to see if this line continues to shift and where it will ultimately settle by the time the game kicks off.
