Few people understand the inner workings of the NFL more than players’ significant others.
Such is the case with Sydney Warner, the wife of San Francisco 49ers linebacker Fred Warner. The Instagram influencer and business manager took to TikTok recently to detail the secrets of the league from the perspective of a player’s wife.
The first thing she wants you to know is that the players get paid just like everyone else.
“They get a paycheck just like every other normal job, just like everyone else,” she said. “For some reason in my weird mind I thought as Brinks truck drove to their house and gave them a lump sum of cash years at a time. I don’t know.”
The tickets to games are discounted but not free.
“They are at a discounted rate, but they’re not free,” she said. “You have to ask for those passes and if you get cleared you get one, you don’t just get them every game. You have to ask and be approved.”
Warner also revealed that she’s not allowed to sleep with her husband while he’s staying at team hotels during home and away games. After the games, she noted it takes roughly 90 minutes for players to rejoin their families, noting that her husband “likes to take his time” in the locker room following wins.
