Houston Texans

The Houston Texans struggled with consistency on the offensive side of the ball in the 2024 season. Some of the Texans’ offensive struggles were due some slight regression from quarterback CJ Stroud after his breakout season.

However, Stroud’s two top targets, Nico Collins and Tank Dell, both missed time after suffering injuries.

Dell suffered a brutal knee injury late in the season against the Kansas City Chiefs late in the season, and is now taking the necessary steps to get back to performing at a high level.

“Wide receiver Tank Dell undergoing surgery today to repair his torn anterior cruciate ligament. Previously, Dr. Walter Lowe repaired his lateral collateral and medial collateral ligaments torn in December game at Arrowhead Stadium. Road to recovery continues,” reported Texans insider Aaron Wilson on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the news on social media.

“I’m very surprised they waited months for this surgery. He’s almost guaranteed to miss next season now. Or at least the regular season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Hopefully we can draft Tez Johnson out of Oregon in the later rounds. He reminds a little of Tank Dell. And then Tank can make a full recovery for the 2026 season. But Tez would be a WR4 to me. We still need a WR2 and WR3 after superstar Nico Collins. We need three wide receivers,” one Texans fan added.

“Wow, WR went from a major strength at the start of 2024 to a major need in 2025,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Dell can return to his form from before the injury.
