Taylor Swift Taylor Swift Eras Tour – Arlington TX

This weekend, pop superstar Taylor Swift took her “Era’s Tour” concert series in Philadelphia where she sold out three concerts in the city’s Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles. And during her show on Friday night, Swift sent a clear message to the Eagles football team, while clarifying one of her song lyrics in the process.

During her concert on Friday night, Taylor Swift answered a burning question about a line in her song “Gold Rush,” revealing whether the “Eagles T-shirt” she mentions in the song refers to the iconic rock band or the NFL football team. Swift made it clear that while she does like The Eagles band, the lyric definitely refers to the football team, given her connection to the city of Philadelphia.

“There was sort of a, I don’t know how large the debate was, but I did see the debate about how a lyric that says ‘with my Eagles T-shirt hanging from the door’ … I saw some people wondering if it was the band Eagles or the team the Eagles,” Swift said at her concert, according to Billboard. “And I love the band The Eagles. But guys, like come on. I’m from Philly. Of course it’s the team.”

The announcement quickly went viral on social media, with fans offering their reaction.

Before moving to Nashville to pursue a music career Swift lived in Pennsylvania as a child, living in Reading and Wyomissing. Though both cities are more than an hour from Philadelphia, it is the closet major city.
