The world is buzzing over rumors that Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have been hanging out. But a potential rumor killer emerged later on in the evening.

The pop singer and the Kansas City Chiefs star tight end reportedly were linked, according to a report by The Messenger on Tuesday. Entertainment Tonight later reported that the two are not officially dating right now, however.

“A source tells ET that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are not officially dating. The NFL player has been vocal about wanting to connect with the pop star. ET reached out to Kelce’s rep for comment and have not heard back,” Entertainment Tonight posted.

Earlier Tuesday, The Messenger‘s report on the rumors said the two “have been quietly hanging out.” A source told the publication that Swift saw Kelce in New York City “a few weeks ago.”

Kelce spoke about his near-encounter with Taylor on his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast New Heights during a recent episode. At the time, Travis said, “If you’re up on Taylor Swift concerts, there are friendship bracelets. And I received a bunch being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.”

Evidently, though, nothing is ‘official’ yet between the two. As the world turns.
