The Broncos are in a tight game with the Bengals in a contest that has AFC playoff implications, but no matter who wins that might not end up the biggest story from the game.
The result won’t be overshadowed by something fun, either, as Broncos QB Teddy Bridgewater is reportedly at a hospital for evaluation after suffering a head injury during a scramble.

Bridgewater was immobile, with a backboard and stretcher eventually removing him from the field. Just a brutal scene.

Fortunately, according to Evan Washburn on the broadcast, Bridgewater was conscious and had feeling in his extremities.

That’s good news in terms of a possible neck injury, of course, but beyond that it’s hard to say. It seems like a concussion is, at minimum, what we’re talking about, but I’m not a doctor and I don’t trust the doctors on Twitter to make an actual diagnosis from their couches.
If there’s any player who certainly doesn’t deserve something like this (though obviously no one deserves it at all), it’s Bridgewater. He’s already had his share of traumatic football injuries, including the training camp injury that could have cost him a leg.
Hopefully he’s able to make a full recovery. It’s almost sort of pointless to discuss the football ramifications, but the Broncos are now down to Drew Lock and Brett Rypien at quarterback, which is not an ideal situation ahead of a playoff push.
