Tennessee Titans rookie quarterback Will Levis was the victim of a pretty brutal tackle that resulted in what appears to be a sprained ankle, and it sounds like his offensive line feels bad about allowing their quarterback to be hit like that.
Will Levis was sacked seven times in the game and has taken a lot of hits since he took over as the team’s starting quarterback, and starting right tackle Dillon Radunz made it clear that the team has to be “way better” at protecting their quarterback.
“It’s probably one of the worst feelings in the world playing this sport,” Radunz said according to the Tennessee Titans team website. “The guy you protect, the guy you are supposed to be holding up, he’s supposed to have trust in us. We have to be way better for Will.”
So far this season, Levis has been sacked 27 times in eight starts – more than three times per game. It’s clear that’s not a recipe for success, and the offensive line is going to have to improve this season as they look toward the future of the team.
With Levis presumably the team’s starter for the foreseeable future, now the team needs to work on getting him some protection.
