The Detroit Lions are eager to get back to work and the NFL playoffs after coming off a frustrating season that saw them miss out on the postseason entirely after what was arguably the best two-season stretch in franchise history.
Unfortunately for Detroit, the Lions’ offseason coverage has been dominated by the legal trouble surrounding cornerback Terrion Arnold, who is facing charges related to his alleged role in a kidnapping in Florida.
If found guilty, Arnold faces a potential sentence of life in prison. The prosecution wanted Arnold jailed until his trial for three armed robbery charges, three kidnapping charges, and two conspiracy charges, but Arnold’s representation, Harvey Steinberg, scored a massive win for the cornerback and secured his release on bond, paving the way for him to practice and play this season.

“As long you don’t gamble”
A swath of fans on social media felt that Arnold’s release was unjust, and an indictment on a legal system that favors defendants with resources, and an indictment on the NFL for allowing him to play.
“As long you don’t gamble or introduce Trump, the NFL has no problem,” one fan posted on X.
“Just don’t mess with rich people’s money through sports betting and you can do literally whatever you want as an athlete,” someone else added.
“Training camp? The guy literally just kidnapped people, what a cesspool of a league,” one fan posted.
Arnold’s legal battle is far from over, as Judge Christopher C. Sabell stated that “probable cause” for the charges. Still, in America, you’re innocent until proven guilty, and in Sabell’s determination, the burden is “higher than the probable cause” at this time.
