The Houston Texans have won a playoff game in each of their first two seasons with young quarterback C.J. Stroud. However, the Texans and Stroud have yet to make a deep playoff run.

Houston is hopeful that this is the season they get over the hump and make a real challenge for AFC supremacy. Unfortunately, one of Stroud’s top weapons, wide receiver Tank Dell, is still recovering from the brutal knee injury that ended his 2024 season.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans discussed the situation surrounding Dell on Wednesday.

“He’s crushing the rehab. He’s doing phenomenal. Really great headspace. It’s great to see him in our meetings. … We’re not putting a timeline on Tank or define like he has to be back this season or this particular time,” Ryans said, according to Underdog NFL.

Fans reacted to the lack of news on social media.

“Everyone is rooting for a tank comeback,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Good return!” someone else wrote.

Although the Texans and Stroud will still be able to rely on star receiver Nico Collins, they’ll need Dell back as soon as possible. The receiving corps is also without Stefon Diggs, who departed in free agency to sign with the New England Patriots.
