The Olympics bring out the best in most people around the world. People get especially patriotic, and gather around televisions around the world to see their world-class athletes represent their homelands.

The NFL is largely the most popular sports league in the United States. Tonight was the first night of preseason play, but even the play going on out on the gridiron took a seat to the Olympics, specifically Michael Phelps.

Phelps, a Baltimore native, had the Ravens and Panthers stopping their own game to watch his race, as he went for his 22nd gold medal:

It’s cool to see everyone at M&T Bank Stadium actively wanting to watch Phelps continue his Olympic dominance over some preseason NFL football. It seems especially crazy because it’s an NFL game. Sure, it’s preseason, but the NFL typically never stops for anybody.

But it stopped for Michael Phelps. That’s greatness, folks.
