SAN FRANCISCO, CA – AUGUST 31: Protestors demonstrate in support of San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick outside of the San Francisco Police Officers Association offices on August 31, 2016 in San Francisco, California. Kaepernick has come under fire for refusing to stand during the Star Spangled Banner in protest of what he complains is oppression of blacks and other peoples of color. The San Francisco Police Officers Association has written a letter to the NFL and San Francisco 49ers asking for an apology from Kaepernick for comments he made about police officer training. The ongoing Colin Kaepernick anthem protest story has taken a few turns, and this weekend things finally take an on-field twist, as Kaepernick will start for San Francisco.

For the first time this regular season, we’ll see Colin Kaepernick highlights that doesn’t focus on his anthem protest. But beyond his reclaimed starter status how else can you get people talking about your cause?

One non profit thinsk they have the answer and have hired a small plane to fly above the Bills stadium with a giant banner attached. As noted by Sportsnaut:

One group which represents the latter in this cultural divide, the California-based Courage Campaign, will be supporting Kaepernick with a banner that will fly over New Era Field Sunday when the San Francisco 49ers take on the Buffalo Bills.

In a press release, the group announced the banner will read, “@CourageCampaign: Kap Inspires Courage!”

The group has taken out a billboard in support of Kapernick already as well:

So if you were hoping this would all die down, it’s likely not going to happen anytime soon. In fact, it may just be beginning given what we’re seeing in the NBA already.
