The Tennessee Titans have been a letdown all season. Many had high hopes for the Titans after the selection of former Miami Hurricanes star Cam Ward first overall in the 2025 NFL Draft. However, the Titans are sitting at 1-6 on the season.

Things have gotten so bad for the Titans that one key name on the roster is asking to be freed so that he can contribute to a team that is actually showing a pulse.

“Veteran WR Tyler Lockett has asked for and received his release from the Tennessee Titans, per source. Lockett is expected to be free to sign with another team after 4 pm ET Wednesday,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

NFL fans reacted to the news on social media.

“At 33, Tyler’s still got that silky-smooth route juju; bet he’s eyeballing a squad like the Steelers or Giants to sauce up Pickett or Jones. This mutual breakup’s smoother than a TikTok dance—where’s our boy landing to snag that ring?” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I don’t blame him. That team is a train wreck. They fired a perfectly good head coach because they made a poor draft decision,” another fan added.

“Hope he comes back to Seattle, but have a feeling he’s Vegas bound to be a security blanket for Geno,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Lockett lands.
