When Tom Brady attended a recent luncheon to talk to the NFL rookie class of quarterbacks, he talked about several things, including how to handle adversity.
But one thing he emphasized is that it doesn’t matter where you landed in the draft. He drove that point home not only to Will Levis but to No. 1 pick Bryce Young.
Brady turned to Levis and said: “Going in the second round, in the end it’s not a big deal.”

Then Brady looked at Young. “Going first overall, in the end it’s not a big deal. I was drafted 199 (overall). I just outlasted everybody.”
Brady is not wrong. Many people remember who wasn’t a success at the quarterback position than those who were. So, he probably wanted to remind Young of that. But Young seems to be a humble guy who never forgot where he came from and knows he owes a lot of his success to the players and the coaches around him.
No one would have ever thought Brady would be considered the greatest QB of all time when he came out of Michigan. Brady was a backup to starter Drew Bledsoe before Bledsoe was injured and Brady replaced him. The rest is history.
