Even though Tom Brady spent the final years of his dominant NFL career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won his final Super Bowl title, that did not seem to hinder his relationship with longtime New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

During an interview with ESPN this week for SportsCenter, Tom Brady opened up about his relationship with Bill Belichick, saying he “was very fortunate” to play under Belichick and revealing that their relationship remained positive long after Brady left New England.

Brady even revealed that Belichick “was one of the first people to text me after we won the Super Bowl in Tampa.”

“Were there times where you know it wasn’t always eye to eye? Very few and far between, actually. I still envision our relationship as positive and always will,” Brady told ESPN.

Brady said that he and Belichick will always “have a lot of mutual respect” for each other and said that he “learned so much from” Belichick during the time that he spent with the New England Patriots.

While Brady might have retired as a Tampa Bay Buccaneer, it’s clear that he still values the time that he spent in New England with Belichick and the Patriots.
