While Cameron Jordan has great respect for Tom Brady and is glad that arguably the greatest quarterback of all time was able to go out on his terms, don’t expect the New Orleans Saints Pro Bowler to shed any tears over the news of his retirement.

“We’re glad that he’s out of the division,” Jordan said via NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe at the Pro Bowl Games in Las Vegas. “Tampa Bay will probably go back to where Tampa Bay’s been.”

During Brady’s three-year tenure in Tampa Bay, the Buccaneers went 32-18, clinched the NFC South twice, and won Super Bowl LV. During that same time frame, the Saints went 28-22, winning the division in 2020, but ultimately losing to Brady and the Buccaneers in the Divisional Round of the playoffs that season.

So, it’s safe to see why Jordan is happy to no longer have to deal with one of the all-time greats in the division. However, Brady did go 6-5 in his career against New Orleans, including going 3-4 (including the 2020 playoff win) when he was with Tampa Bay.

Prior to the retirement of Drew Brees and later Sean Payton, the Saints ran the NFC South for the better part of a decade. While Jordan took an unruly shot at the Buccaneers, Tampa Bay is entering the same territory that New Orleans finds itself in — life after a great quarterback retires.
