Tom Brady knows greatness when he sees it. The former seven-time Super Bowl Champion has his choice for MVP, and they reside in San Francisco. But unlike others who’ve tabbed quarterback Brock Purdy as their choice, Brady decided to ride with running back Christian McCaffrey.
The dynamic McCaffrey has been a difference-maker for the Niners since they acquired him in a trade last year. CMC has proven to be the league’s best running back and one of the most important players in the league to their team.
Brady gave McCaffrey this ringing endorsement on his Let’s Go! Podcast this week. Brady hosted the Niners tailback on the show and continued on about his abilities.
“He is a dynamic player now, and I think all of what he’s done this year is a lot of what he’s done in the past. It’s a different team with some different opportunities, and they’ve been really dynamic on offense,” Brady said.
This season, McCaffrey’s run for a league-best 1,292 yards on a league-high 244 carries. He’s scored 13 rushing touchdowns and 20 total touchdowns, seven coming on receptions. He’s built up quite a case for himself, especially while the 49ers continue to win off his performances.
The MVP race will go right down to the wire it seems, so we’ll see if Brady’s endorsement pays off.
