Future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady certainly isn’t going into retirement in obscurity.
The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback has made a number of eye-popping business investments after announcing his retirement — for now — from the NFL. Recently Brady created headlines throughout the league by purchasing a minority ownership stake in English Championship soccer side Birmingham City.
Not content to rest on his laurels, Brady made another startling business decision on Wednesday, when Delta Airlines announced they had hired “the NFL GOAT” as a “strategic advisor” for the iconic brand.

This won’t be traditional brand sponsorship by an athlete. Brady will be “inside” the company, where he’ll assist employees with team-building and strategic training for the more than 90,000 workers. Brady will also assist the airline with their marketing.
“I am grateful to be joining the Delta family, a company I have loved and respected for years,” Brady said in a statement. “Growing up with a mother as a flight attendant, I have always admired the people that make seamless air transportation possible. Throughout my career, my teammates and I flew Delta countless times, spending hours traveling for some of the most important games of our lives, even celebrating Super Bowl wins on the plane.”
The NFL world was quick to react to the surprising news:
