Future Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady could leave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this offseason, and Josh McDaniels and the Las Vegas Raiders are expected to be in hot pursuit of his services.

McDaniels and Brady have a longtime connection stemming from their time together with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots. ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler detailed Brady’s potential new team during a Saturday afternoon hit on SportsCenter.

“[The Raiders] expect to be one of a handful of teams in the mix,” Fowler said in the video, before adding that he expects Brady to “take his time” before making any decision about his football future.

That sentiment was echoed by NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport on Saturday, as well. Rapoport said on NFL GameDay, “Tom Brady plans to take some time away from football, step back, spend some time with his kids and really consider his options. His goal is to not make a decision immediately, come out of this with a clear head.”

The Raiders will need a new quarterback regardless of Brady’s decision after the franchise ended the Derek Carr era earlier this season. The Raiders finished 6-11, good enough for a third-place in the AFC West. Star receiver Davante Adams will play with his third quarterback in three years, should Vegas make a move.
