There’s little argument against Tom Brady as the greatest quarterback of all time. Across an over 20-year career with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Brady won a record seven Super Bowls as the starting quarterback.
Brady has been out of the NFL as a player for a few years now, but still remains close to the sport. He serves as an analyst for FOX and is also a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, the NFL legend is finally making his return to the field, according to one prominent league insider.
“Tom Brady is coming out of retirement, sort of, to join Saquon Barkley, Christian McCaffrey, CeeDee Lamb, Maxx Crosby, Rob Gronkowski, Sauce Gardner Myles Garrett and others for the Fanatics Flag Football Classic – a competitive flag football tournament taking place during Riyadh Season in Saudi Arabia on March 21, 2026. It will be Brady’s first football action since retiring three years ago. Pete Carroll, Sean Payton and Kyle Shanahan will be coaching the three teams,” reported ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Flag football? Man went from 7 rings to 7th graders’ gym class,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Somewhere the NFL schedulers just panicked for no reason. Brady vs Gronk in flag football feels like backyard Thanksgiving energy,” someone else added.
“This flag football event sounds like a competitive spectacle, even if it’s not the NFL gridiron. Brady’s return will definitely draw eyes,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see how Brady looks after so much time off.
