According to Tom Brady, Ryan Fitzpatrick is not “that motherf****r.”
A lot of NFL people have been wondering who the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback was referring to during a 2021 appearance on HBO’s The Shop when discussing a potential free agency landing spot that spurned his interests.
“One of the teams, they weren’t interested at the very end. I was thinking, ‘You’re sticking with that motherf****r?’” Brady said.
Last week, former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick said that he believes Brady was talking about him given the longstanding rumors that Brady wanted to play for the Miami Dolphins. Fitzpatrick was their quarterback in 2019.
“I think I still am. I think I still am that guy. If you go back to that, again, that’s before the 2019 season when the Dolphins are trying to assemble a roster that is going to help them get a better draft pick the next year, so it’s not like that was going to be an attractive situation for Tom anyway. So, I’m not sure why he was so upset about it, but I still to this day believe that I am that motherf*****r.”
During Monday’s episode of the Let’s Go podcast, Brady said that, no, it was not Fitzpatrick.
“I like to keep them guessing, and unfortunately with this coming out I’d have to tell him, it wasn’t him,” Brady said, via Sports Illustrated.
So, with Ryan Fitzpatrick out of contention, who is the identity behind “that motherf––?”

Will we ever find out for sure who the “motherf****r” is? Maybe, maybe not, but it sounds like Brady is happy to keep us all guessing.
