The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 27-22, on Thursday Night Football. The loss, which sent the Bucs to 3-5 on the season, marked the worst start of quarterback Tom Brady’s career.
The future Hall of Famer earned another dubious distinction during the game. Brady replaced Pittsburgh Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger as the most-sacked quarterback in NFL history when Ravens linebacker Justin Houston brought him down in consecutive plays:
Justin Houston's sack on @TomBrady makes the QB the most sacked in NFL history.
Not a product of total games played at all…😂

Brady has been sacked 555 times compared to Roethlisberger’s 554, the official NFL Twitter account noted.
Brady, for his part, had a hilarious reaction to the historic mark when told during the lead-up to the game.
“I’d like to actually thank my complete lack of agility and speed for allowing me to knock on the door of this very esteemed NFL record. So, I have some other cool ones. This one I’m probably not as excited about,” Brady said, according to the New York Post. “Like we always say, oh, you know, some things get better with age. I think the feeling you get when you’re sacked is not one of those.”
Brady and the Bucs are next in action Nov. 6th when they host the defending Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams in Tampa.
