It’s been well documented in recent weeks that Tom Brady’s decision to un-retire and return to the NFL this season put a serious strain on his marriage to supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Now comes word that while the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback is committed to grinding through this year, he’s going to have to make it his last if he wants to stay married.

According to People, Brady “knows that this is his last season” in the NFL “if he wants to stay married” per a source close to the quarterback. The outlet also notes that while their marriage is not “over by any means,” Brady is well aware that he has to retire after this season no matter what.

“She doesn’t hate that he’s playing football, but she sure hates the way he handled the retirement and coming back,” People’s source said. “He knows that, and he’s doing what he can do to smooth things over. He does know that this is his last season if he wants to stay married. He can’t do this again.”

CNN jumped into the gossip fray on Thursday and confirmed that the power couple is “living separately,” which confirms many of the previous reports and rumors that were out there.

Meanwhile, Brady definitely sounds like a guy who is dealing with a lot of big life issues off the field while also trying to put together one last day in the sun on it.
