Last week, the NFL world was shocked by the news that legendary quarterback Tom Brady took what appeared to be an unexpected absence from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to deal with “some personal things.”

The seven-time Super Bowl winner’s absence caused plenty of speculation around the NFL, with some people pointing out that Brady “looked miserable” in training camp and others making assumptions about how his family played into it. However, it did seem that Brady’s leave of absence was planned well in advance.

But the whole situation did get a little more concerning on Thursday.

Bucs head coach Todd Bowles said last week that the team expected Brady back sometime after Friday’s preseason matchup with the Tennessee Titans. But a day before the game, the team still has no timeline for their star quarterback’s return, according to Greg Auman.

“Todd Bowles said he doesn’t have a firm date for Tom Brady returning,” Auman said on Thursday. “Said it’ll be after Titans game and they’ll revisit it after that.”

While this isn’t necessarily bad news, the vagueness of Bowles’ comments certainly caught the attention of the NFL world, who offered their thoughts on the Brady situation.

While this latest update might not be an immediate cause for concern, it definitely adds a little bit of intrigue to the situation.
