This is unfortunately a familiar headline.
Tony Romo was hit during Friday’s preseason game against the Seahawks on a very awkward play.

And now reports are circulating that he’s going to be out for a while, which is very unfortunate news.

Cowboys QB Tony Romo to miss 6-10 weeks with broken bone in back, per source.

Romo played just four games last year due to injury, and it looks like even a best-case scenario won’t see him back in time for anything close to a full season. It’s definitely bad news for the Cowboys, who now might have to turn to rookie Dak Prescott to open the year.
And naturally, the team’s chief doctor and owner Jerry Jones was wrong in his initial diagnosis:
And for at least the 3rd time in his career, this is why you never listen to Jerry or Romo the night of an injury tell us it is all good.

Hopefully Romo can make a quick and full recovery, but you have to wonder how many injuries he’ll be willing to play through.
