Colin Kaepernick gets inducted into the Nevada Sports Hall of Fame during halftime of the game against Idaho State at Mackay Stadium in Reno on Sept. 11, 2021. Ren Kaepernick Unr 05

Colin Kaepernick last played on New Year’s Day 2017 and since he was released by the San Francisco 49ers, Kaepernick hasn’t had an official tryout with an NFL team since. The closest was a visit to the Seattle Seahawks in 2017. Nevertheless, the 34-year-old has stayed in shape in the hopes of a call from an NFL team and his trainer recently revealed that multiple teams have reached out about Kaepernick’s status.

Kaepernick’s trainer David Robinson revealed to TMZ Sports that ever since a recent training session in Dallas, “at least five different teams have reached out to him [about Kaepernick] in the last few days.” Kaepernick also recently worked out with Seattle Seahawks receiver Tyler Lockett as the Seahawks are typically brought up as a potential destination. Even though the Seahawks, or any other team, hasn’t expressed any serious interest other than those teams Robinson said were reaching out.

After five years, even the most optimistic people are accepting that Kaepernick is never going to get another chance in the NFL. That still hasn’t stopped him though as he tries to stay in football shape.
