Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce did not hold back when describing the new rule changes the NFL plans to implement this coming season.

For safety reasons, teams can now call for fair-catch kickoffs in exchange for receiving the ball at the 25-yard line. The rule almost eliminates the need for punt or kickoff returners.

To say Kelce is not a fan of this new rule would be an understatement. He hates it and expressed his feelings about it on his and his brother Jason’s podcast.

“I think this is absolutely stupid,” he said.

“I don’t think this is making the game safer. I think it’s making it more boring and taking a lot of excitement out of the game’s opening play. This is wack,” he continued to say.

His brother Jason agrees with those sentiments.

“We’re just getting closer and closer to removing special teams,” the Philadelphia Eagles star said on the podcast.
